Emmanuel Acho

Emmanuel Acho (b. 1990) is an analyst for Fox Sports 1 and a former NFL linebacker and college football player. He was born in Dallas, Texas, to middle-class Nigerian immigrants who raised him in a predominantly White environment. Only in college did Acho’s social circle expand to include Black people from varied backgrounds. His circle continued to grow during his time with the NFL, an organization that is approximately 68% Black. Acho’s upbringing and personal experiences make him an ideal go-between for White and Black America.

The book is based on his hit YouTube series, which he originally wanted to call “Questions White People Have.” The title changed, but the goal remained the same: to facilitate hard discussions about race and racism by providing White people with a safe space to ask questions. The diversity of Acho’s close friends reveals that he lives the values and ideas promoted in his book.
