A strange man with gold-capped teeth, who looks familiar to Ms. Appleton, delivers the new scoring machine. During voting in homeroom, Jackson slips his unmarked ballot into his pocket and asks for another one. His teacher watches as he marks his votes, taking extra care of Gaby’s vote. Back in the office, Dr. Kelsey decides the easiest way to throw the election for Keith is to create a falsified scoring machine report. After wrangling with Lincoln and the Honor Board, they agree a Board member will send the ballots through the machine and call for Dr. Kelsey to verify the report, which is when he would switch the reports. On his way to the office, Lincoln runs into Megan, and she suggests that the newly elected Student Council members have the first dance at the formal. Nervous and sweaty, Lincoln agrees but says he was not planning to attend since he did not have a date. Megan says that he can dance with her. When it is time to tally the votes, Lincoln discovers that the new machine is broken. Still reeling from his encounter with Megan, Lincoln scrambles for a solution, suggesting they count the ballots by hand or return the new machine for the old one.
