The Friend Zone

Josh is settling into the guest room for his first night at Kristen’s home when she knocks on the door and asks him to come kill a spider in her room. Because she is always so confident and sassy, he is surprised that she is afraid of spiders, and he even more surprised at the traditionally feminine decor in her bedroom. He kills the spider, and then Kristen suggests that they go throw toilet paper at Brandon and Sloan’s house as a prank. They pretend that they are on a serious Marine mission. Kristen tells him to drive to a strip mall that she says was one of the set locations for Pulp Fiction. She tells him about other spots around Los Angeles that were featured in the movie. By the end of the night, Josh feels as if he has been on the best date ever, but he knows that Kristen is not available.

Kristen and Josh have now been roommates for five days. Kristen knows that this is a bad idea because the arrangement feels so natural, and she enjoys spending time with Josh.
