Rowan Kane is attending the funeral of his grandfather, who recently died after a three-year coma. As Rowan recalls his mother’s funeral, which occurred when he was young, his rudeness chases off other mourners. However, his brother, Callahan (or Cal), reminds him to put on the best face he can in honor of their grandfather. After the funeral, Rowan and his two brothers, Declan and Cal, each receive a letter written by their grandfather prior to his coma. The letters explain the conditions of the will. To receive his 18% share of their grandfather’s company, Dreamland, Rowan must become the director and spearhead a special project, using his creative skills to develop a renovation plan. Rowan balks at the task, having given up on his creative work long ago. The task set for his oldest brother, Declan, is to marry and have a child, and Cal must reach out to a woman from his past named Alana.
