Lara Veliant

One of the two protagonists and a main point-of-view character, Lara is a Maridrinian princess sent on a mission to Ithicana as part of an arranged marriage. She is a skilled fighter known for her beauty and proficiency in killing.

The other protagonist and central narrative voice, Aren is the king of Ithicana who enters into an arranged marriage with Lara due to a political treaty. He is a dutiful and caring monarch with notable skills as an archer and fighter.

King of Maridrina and father to Lara and several other princesses, Silas is a strategic ruler who seeks to expand his kingdom’s power through military and political maneuvers. He has little regard for the lives of his enemies or even his own daughters.

Known as the Magpie, Serin is the Master of Spies for King Silas and leads the training of the Maridrinian princesses, including Lara. He is the main strategist behind espionage efforts against Ithicana.
