Why is it significant that the Black neighborhood of Medallion is replaced by the Medallion City Golf Course? What does the neighborhood of Medallion represent? What does the golf course represent? What does the clash between the two suggest?

Teaching Suggestion: Ensure that students understand that golf is often associated with white culture. In fact, students may not be able to name any Black golfers except Tiger Woods. To broaden the discussion, you might have students consider other historical examples of Black neighborhoods being destroyed or undermined.
