Scarlett finds herself in a high tower among the stars, and Tella is there. Tella is in great spirits and tells Scarlett she has reached the end of the game. Scarlett tries to warn Tella about how this year’s game is different, showing her Julian’s blood that’s still all over her. Tella brushes aside Scarlett’s panic and theory about their Nana Annalise. Scarlett understands why Tella is skeptical, so she shows her the note Legend left about Tella’s funeral. When Tella reads the note, however, it has changed, making Scarlett look paranoid. Tella laughs. It’s just an invitation to a party.
Scarlett tries to explain to Tella that the note has changed. Tella believes her but thinks it’s a part of the game to motivate her to find Tella faster. Scarlett thinks Tella actually sounds reasonable, but she has seen too much. She tries to fill Tella in on everything that has happened with her father and the count. Tella thinks it’s funny that Scarlett tied Count d’Arcy to the bed and thinks the game has made Scarlett a little mad. Tella understands Scarlett’s fear of their father and says, “someday, Father will pay for all his sins.
